Psychology is the study of the mind, the brain, our behavior and our relationships, and involves everything we do, say, feel and think. Because psychology is such an important part of our everyday lives, the career and educational opportunities in this dynamic field are virtually endless.
With a concentration in neuroscience and minors in psychology of crime and justice, as well as gender studies, a psychology bachelor's degree from Mercyhurst College prepares its majors for a number of diverse professional and educational pursuits, whether in law, health and medicine, social work, education, government, sports or business.
Many graduates enter graduate and professional programs at either the master's or doctoral level, while others enter the job market in a variety of applied settings immediately after graduation, most commonly in social services and the helping professions.
